Social networking engagement

If someone asked me to attend a network event, I would happily attend it. I consider myself a life-long learner. I look for opportunities to get smarter and am always open to interaction with others. I gain new insights and ideas through interaction with like-minded individuals. Networking also helps me share my interests and concerns and work on my persona.

Networking is an art. I’m a socialite, and I use it as an exercise in making connections. Meeting prospects is exciting for business and helps expand one’s sphere of influence. I audit my presence when attending a networking event.

I’m sure there are some dos and don’ts that I do not particularly focus on. I am more concerned about professionalism and making a first impression. The things that stand out for me in others are being an attentive listener, being sincere, and being authentic.

Opportunities for social praise engagements

Every one thrives for recognition. The desire for recognition is a powerful motivator. Complimenting success is the ultimate expression of appreciation. When I retired, I was praised for my 30 years of service. When my name was called out, the feeling of being appreciated was magnified a thousand times.

I would like to acknowledge women in this section. The theme is to praise success! The concept of praising success implies giving frequent and sincere praise, and it cannot be given often enough. Consultants keep a score of the smallest of achievements, one after another. They agree that six touches, such as nurturing, motivating, inspiring, encouraging, affirmations, and acknowledgment, are forms of praising success.

This may culminate in gestures such as name recognition in print, photos representing milestone achievements, memos of inspiring stories, quotes, and public recognition meetings. Give praise where it is due. The honesty of praises can be demonstrated through presentations, awards, ribbons, and gratifying words in front of peers. This boosts the self-esteem of employees. These recognitions should become an integral part of any business.
